Glasgow's Pride
Partnership Policy

Glasgow’s Pride, we are committed to fostering partnerships and sponsorships that align with our core values of Inclusion, Visibility, Equality, and Education, while contributing positively to the LGBTQIA+ community and the wider society we serve. To ensure the integrity of our collaborations and maintain our support for LGBTQIA+ lives, we have established a set of guidelines that outline our approach to partnership opportunities.

We carefully evaluate potential partnerships on a case-by-case basis, considering factors such as responsible business practices, customer protection, regulatory compliance, and alignment with our organisation's mission to promote the well-being and equality of LGBTQIA+ individuals. We prioritise collaborating with organisations that demonstrate a strong commitment to ethical conduct, sustainability, and the advancement of LGBTQIA+ rights and inclusion, both for their employees and the broader community. This includes companies that actively foster inclusive work environments, provide equal opportunities and benefits for LGBTQIA+ employees, and support initiatives that promote LGBTQIA+ equality in society. While we are open to collaborating with a diverse range of industries and organisations, we place the highest value on those that share our dedication to creating positive change, championing inclusivity, and supporting the diverse spectrum of the LGBTQIA+ community.

1. Hate and Division: We refuse sponsorship from any organisation that spreads messages of hate and intolerance, seeks to sow division among communities. Or pushes a message of exclusion This includes but is not limited to racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, or otherwise discriminatory ideologies.

2. Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: We prioritise partnerships with organisations that demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in their workplace and business practices. This includes actively promoting representation, equal opportunities, and inclusive environments for marginalised communities.

3. Anti-LGBTQIA+ State-Owned Companies: We will not accept sponsorship funds from companies that are wholly owned by states with anti-LGBTQIA+ laws or policies, as we stand firmly against discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

4. Alcohol Company Partnerships: We are aware that a large percentage of the LGBTQIA+ safe spaces are considered as bars which generate their turnover with the sale of alcohol. Glasgow’s Pride will consider partnering with alcohol companies on a strictly case-by-case basis, subject to a thorough review of their commitment to responsible practices, customer protection, regulatory compliance, and industry standards such as including the promotion of drinkaware in shared campaigns. Any potential partnership must align with our organisation's values and prioritise the well-being of individuals who choose to consume alcohol. We will not partner with companies that engage in predatory or unethical practices or that fail to provide adequate resources for alcohol abuse support.

5. Gambling Company Partnerships: We will consider partnering with gambling companies on a strictly case-by-case basis, subject to a thorough review of their commitment to responsible gambling practices, customer protection, and regulatory compliance. Any potential partnership must align with our organisation's values and prioritise the well-being of individuals who choose to participate in gambling activities. We will not partner with companies that engage in predatory or unethical practices or that fail to provide adequate resources for problem gambling support.

6. Tobacco and Vaping Industry: To protect the health and well-being of the LGBTQIA+ community, we will not partner with or accept sponsorship from companies involved in the manufacture of tobacco products and vaping devices, including e-cigarettes and related accessories.

7. Weapons Manufacturers: We refuse sponsorship from companies whose primary business involves the manufacture or sale of weapons, as this is not in alignment with our values of peace and non-violence.

8. Commitment to Sustainability and Social Responsibility: We prioritise partnerships with organisations that share our dedication to sustainable practices, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility. We actively seek collaborations with companies that are committed to reducing their carbon footprint, minimising waste, and promoting eco-friendly initiatives. Furthermore, we value partners who demonstrate a strong sense of social responsibility by supporting local communities and engaging in ethical business practices.

9. Exploitative Labour Practices: We will not partner with companies that engage in exploitative labour practices, such as child labour, forced labour, or unsafe working conditions. We believe in the fair treatment and protection of workers' rights.

10. Transparency and Accountability: We expect our partners to maintain a high level of transparency and accountability in their business practices. We will not collaborate with organisations that engage in deceptive marketing, fraud, corruption, or other unethical conduct.

Furthermore, Glasgow’s Pride will not work with companies who are only interested in a marketing partnership to exploit our brand and our communities. Our ideal partners will commit to a multi-year relationship to optimise our opportunity to make a difference together and will develop a partnership that is more than a cash-for-branding transaction. We seek sponsors who are genuinely invested in supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and are willing to engage in meaningful, long-term collaborations.

By adhering to these sponsorship guidelines, we maintain our integrity, stay true to our values of Inclusion, Visibility, Equality and Education, and ensure that the funding we receive supports our mission rather than undermining it
